Do top-ups to my MediSave Account qualify for CPF Top-Up Cash Relief?

Yes. CPF Cash Top-up Relief was expanded to cover cash top-ups made to your own MediSave Account and to your family members' MediSave Accounts, alongside top-ups to Special and Retirement Accounts.

The relief is capped at S$16,000 per Year of Assessment – a maximum of S$8,000 for top-ups to your own accounts and a further S$8,000 for top-ups to family members' accounts. Importantly, the S$8,000 self cap is shared across your Special/Retirement Account and MediSave Account top-ups; there is no separate MediSave allowance on top of it.

Two conditions are worth noting. Only cash top-ups qualify – transferring existing funds from your Ordinary Account does not. And a MediSave top-up is only accepted up to the prevailing Basic Healthcare Sum (BHS); amounts taking the account above the BHS attract no relief.

Some top-ups are excluded: those attracting a Matched Retirement Savings Scheme (MRSS) grant do not qualify from YA 2026 (for top-ups received from 1 January 2025), and those attracting a Matched MediSave Scheme (MMSS) grant will not qualify from YA 2027 (for top-ups made from 1 January 2026). Self-employed persons must also be up to date with their compulsory MediSave contributions. All reliefs remain subject to the overall S$80,000 personal relief cap.
